Three-quarters of Idaho’s residents read a newspaper at least once a week.
Two-thirds of Americans still prefer to read their newspapers in print.
No other medium provides more news and information about local communities than newspapers.
Representing 48 daily and weekly newspapers throughout Idaho, the Newspaper Association of Idaho works to support free speech, a free press and open government through lobbying efforts and by providing information to state leaders and residents.
We offer four types of membership: Professional, Allied Professional, Student Newspapers, and Affiliate and Honorary Memberships. Learn more about what each membership includes and figure out which type of membership is best for you by clicking the button below.
While the main purpose of NAI is to influence state polices on free speech, free press, open government and the newspaper business in general, NAI provides other services including conferences in the winter and fall, administering statewide public notices, among other things.
"Publishing a rural community newspaper is both rewarding and challenging, especially when faced by an ever-changing readership, styles and technology. Membership within this association offers me the opportunity to discuss these trends with those who have already faced some of these challenges. Their insight, and their fellowship, is invaluable."
